How to make Wordpress work with SSL/HTTPS

If you’re adding SSL to your existing site, then you need to move all your Wordpress files from public_html to private_html and setup WordPress SSL redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.

1. First you need to make a copy of your .htaccess and upload it to your private_html folder.

2. Then edit the .htaccess in your private_html folder and you need to make the redirect by adding the following code in your .htaccess file.
Dont forget to change the domain name to your site.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.yoursite.com/$1 [R,L]
</IfModule>

3. Last step is to move all your Wordpress folders and files to the private_html folder.
