How to make Wordpress work with SSL/HTTPS

If you want to run your Wordpress using https (SSL) to your existing site, then you need to enable the symbolic link in the Domain Setup of the Control Panel. Create your free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate and then setup WordPress SSL redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.


1. First goto to Domain Setup in the Control Panel and select "Use a symbolic link from private_html to public_html - allows for same data in http and https"

2. Then goto SSL Certificates in the Control Panel and setup your Let's Encrypt SSL certificate

3. Lastly login to Wordpress and change the URL in the settings to https, You can do this by going to Settings » General and updating your WordPress and site URL address fields.


Now if you’re adding SSL to your existing site, then you need to setup WordPress SSL redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.

You can do this by adding the following code in your .htaccess file:

Don’t forget to replace yoursite.com with your site URL.
